The Old Mill Hill Loop Road Neighborhood is a resource for residents of the Old Mill Hill Loop (OMHL) Road.  It is a vision of Kati Osgood and Carlos Pinkham whose father and father-in-law (Bill Osgood and Bill Waite, respectively) were long-time residents of Loop Road and knew everyone on the loop.  This vision is our attempt to honor their memory.

It will become a repository for maps and other resources as we learn more about the resource-rich OMHL Road area.

You are part of the neighborhood if your 911 location is on the old Loop Road (now Bailey, and Loop Road) or is in Northfield on a road directly leading off the old Loop Road (Old Mill Hill Road, Harriot Road, Frost Road, Dog House Road, or Apple Lane).

The first resource is an abbreviated spread sheet with just the addresses and names of our neighbors.

UPCOMING EVENTS

Our first official event as a neighborhood will occur on the afternoon of June 16th.  It is described here:  Butternut Hill Sundays flier.pdf along with some of the ways we anticipate this neighborhood can be used.

The fourth resource is being developed.  It is a topo map with place names such as streams/brooks, etc., and known resources.  If you have a favorite one you want on the OMHL Road topo map, contact Carl Pinkham or add it in the "Add a Comment" space at the bottom of the page.  Let Carl know if there is no such space at the bottom of your page.  There is at the bottom of his, but he is the owner of this site, so that may be why. 

In case you aren't interested in downloading the above file, here are the ideas listed there; feel free to send Carl or KatiO additional ideas:

Future projects could include:

•  getting together for a large, Loop garage sale.
•  holding a get-to-know-one-another party in one of our large fields.
•  coordinating projects such as driveway paving or otherwise hardening of driveways to cut costs to all participants.
•  sharing those flowers that we remove from our flower beds because they are just too crowded.
•  sharing concerns that we have that should be voiced at town meeting.
•  sharing our collective knowledge of the local fauna and flora.
•  producing a guide book to the resources in our neighborhood. (Carl used to do that for military installations.)
•  forming a neighborhood watch or formalizing the informal one that now exists since we all kind of keep track of our and our neighbors' property.
